JK administration should help COVID positive patients of rural areas: RUM
5/31/2021 12:35:28 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, May 30: Rural Uthan Mission (RUM) has said that J&K administration should help COVID positive patients of rural areas. In a handout RUM demanded that J&K administration should start five ambulances in R.S Pura, Suchethgarh, Bishnah and Ramgarh as the medical infrastructure in border areas is crippling.
RUM founder, Kailashpati Sharma claimed, though he and his family are COVID positive yet he with his entire team wants to work to support the COVID patients wherever they can.
Sharma also said that the government should start free testing in villages and standardize testing prices so that more cases can be detected and be cured as detection of positive cases in J&K is poorest in the country.
He also said that RUM has donated 10 oxygen concentrators, 25K masks, 200 oxy-meters, facilitated free consultation by doctors, provided 50 gas cylinders across NCR and also in J&K in last few weeks.
He further stated that they have started sanitation drives for COVID prevention in villages and have facilitated over 50 local police and other frontline daily workers for their relentless contribution in NCR.
He said that their new initiative in J&K is to ensure that government Corona kits (oximeter, medicines, vitamins etc) reach patients; anyone who cannot afford medicine can connect RUM to get medicines and RUM has five doctors onboard giving free virtual consultation to patients and one may connect them at www.ruraluthanmission.com.
“Our contact numbers are also written in the site and one can connect us directly for any support,” he maintained.
The RUM founder expressed concerns over delay in getting kits by COVID patients and demanded more masks, gloves, sanitizers at Tehsils and village level hospitals.
RUM team including Renuka Sharma, Vivek Mona, Shisrhik Gupta, Pankaj, Vineeta, Kritika Sharma, Daljeet, Anil Yadav, Pramod Pandey, Zahida, Dr Som, Dr Jyoti, Dr Rishv, Dr Varun, Dr. Aarti, Daksheesh Sharma, Anup and J.P Singh are working at individual levels for supporting the cause.
