Killing of BJP leader in Tral widely condemned

JAMMU, June 3: The killing of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and president Municipal Committee (MC) Tral, Rakesh Pandita has been widely condemned by several political parties and social organizations.
Senior leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) have strongly condemned the killing of MC president and BJP leader Rakesh Pandita by terrorists in Tral, Pulwama yesterday evening and expressed sympathizes with the family, relatives and friends.
PCC leaders expressed deep sympathies with the family and prayed for peace to the departed soul. They also prayed for the early recovery of Asifa Mushtaq, seriously injured in the attack.
They said that such targeted killing and attacks are aimed at creating fear amongst the political class including the PRIs and the minorities in Kashmir and lashed out at the hollow slogans of the BJP government which proved to be fake.
National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today condemned the brutal assassination of the BJP Councillor Rakesh Pandita in Tral area of Pulwama district in Kashmir, describing the terror act as barbaric and inhuman.
“Sad to know about the dastardly killing of the BJP Councillor Mr Rakesh Pandit in Tral”, Mr Rana said in a statement issued here this morning, adding that terrorism has no place in a civilized society.
Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has also strongly condemned the killing of another Kashmiri Pandit activist in the valley and asked political parties in particular BJP J&K, to explain as it has recently claimed the security situation in Kashmir has improved manifold for return of Kashmiri Pandits to valley. Kundan Kashmiri, Tej Pandita, MK Raina, HL Saraf, Susheel Bhat and other KPC leaders have strongly condemned the killing Rakesh Pandita, Municipal Councillor in Tral, area of Kashmir valley yesterday. They said that this grave incident has punched and smashed the claim of some politicians and political parties in particular of BJP J&K which claimed recently in the month of April, 2021 that the security situation in Kashmir has improved manifold, the Kashmiri Pandits have started returning to Kashmir .
Kashmiri Khatri Hindu Maha Sabha has strongly condemned the brutal killing of Chairman of Municipal Committee (MC) Tral Rakesh Pandita, who was shot dead by militants.
They demanded compensation to the bereaved family and a government job to one of the family members or other kith and kin. They expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, a two minutes silence was observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
Shadi Lal Pandita, President JTC and SKF, Convener of PCC migrant cell said that we are with Rakesh Pandita's family in this mire of sorrow. Pandita said that the BJP government has failed in every respect. After coming to power the BJP had said that peace would be restored in Kashmir valley by lifting Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, which is proving to be a mistake.
A condolence meeting was called by Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Chander Mohan Gupta at Town Hall Jammu which was also attended by Advocate Purnima Sharma Deputy Mayor, Narinder Singh Jamwal Chairman Health & Sanitation Committee Yash Paul Sharma Chairman Swacch Bharat Committee, Kuldeep Singh Jamwal Chairman Social Justice Committee, Parmod Kapahi Chief Whip BJP of General House Meeting. They all strongly condemned the brutal killing of Rakesh Pandita, senior BJP leader/Chairman of Tral Municipal Committee by the terrorists.
Two minutes of silence was observed by them. Mayor said that Rakesh Pandita was a very brave BJP leader and he will always remain in the heart of every activist of his party for his simplicity as well as dedication towards mankind. They prayed to the Almighty God for granting eternal peace to the departed soul and extended deep sympathy with the bereaved family to provide them courage & strength to bear this irreparable and untimely loss.
Senior BJP leader and corporator Sheela Handoo has condemned the killing of councillor Rakesh Pandita. She has expressed her deep condolancees to bereaned family and asked the administration stration to nab the culprits who have committed such a henious crime.
Coordinator Apni Party Displaced Kashmiri Pandits of Jammu province,Vinod Pandita strongly condemned the ghastly attack on councillor Rakesh Pandita.He said this selective killing has once again left whole KP Community in a state of shock and grief. Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra Jammu, a socio-cultural organisation of the exiled Kashmiri Hindu community. Deeply anguished by the senseless killing of a peaceful, compassionate, secular & a nationalist fellow community youth, SSK in a very empathetic way condemns this heinous act of the soul-less destructive elements, who are bent upon vitiating the peaceful atmosphere in the valley & condemning it back to dark ages. Sympathising with the family of the brave martyr, SSK stated that this act of sacrifice shall not go in vain and the community & all nationalistic forces shall remember the Braveheart with moist eyes & deep reverence.
