Major bovine smuggling bid foiled, accused arrested

Reasi, June 6: As a part of drive against bovines smuggling launched by District Police Reasi, during intervening night of 5th/6th of June Police team of police station Mahore got a specific information about smuggling of bovines in gulabgarh area, police team of police station Mahore negotiated hills there for more than 2 hours, intercepted them at Arital area of Gulabgarh & arrested two notorious bovines smugglers Shah Mohd S/O Abdul Qayoom R/O Channa Chassana, Abdul Rashid S/O Mohd Anwar R/O Neoch and rescued 26 Bovines from their possession while on way to Kulgam district of Kashmir valley.
In this regard FIR NO 29/ 2021 US 188 IPC stands registered at police station Mahore & investigations set in.
In another police raid by Police Station Mahore, intercepted attempt of bovine smuggling and arrested one notorious bovines smuggler Fayaz S/O Ghulam Qadir Lone R/O Danva district Kulgam from lower Ramunda hill top and rescued 05 bovines from his possession.
In this regards FIR no 30/2021 U/S 188 IPC stands registered at police station Mahore and investigations initiated. On preliminary enquiry, it has been found that one-to-two bovines were carried from different areas & collected at single point in jungles & were to be smuggled across valley on foot, through mountain-passes of Majestic Pir Panchal ranges.
Senior Superintendent of Police Shailender Singh & his team of Reasi police is hell bent upon to eradicate the menace of Bovine Smuggling from the area. Under this drive 87 bovines have been rescued in 14 cases FIR in which 19 accused have been arrested since last six weeks.
