Natrang’s National Theatre Talk Show begins with Abhishek Pandit

JAMMU, June 7: Natrang’s National Theatre Talk Show, ‘Young Voices of Theatre’ started today with thought provoking views of Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Awardee Abhishek Pandit, who is founder of ‘Sutradhar Sansthan’ and has pioneered modern theatre movement in Azamgarh. Speaking about this unique talk show which would be featured every day at 4:30 pm at the Facebook page of Natrang Jammu, Director Natrang, Balwant Thakur informed that this talk is going to feature young voices of theatre spread across the country. Majority of the young actors, directors, designers and technicians being featured in this series are the most accomplished theatre artists who have made a name at the national level through their outstanding contribution in the field of contemporary theatre. This series aims at showcasing young voices who have given a new direction and flip to the contemporary theatre movement of the country.
Introducing Abhishek Pandit, Natrang’s senior artist Neeraj Kant informed that with the motive to develop professional theatre in Azamgarh, Abhishek established ‘Sutradhar’ group in the year 2003. Since then the group is continuously organising theatre festival ‘Azamgarh Rangmahotsav’, production oriented theatre workshops, seminars and exhibitions. He has performed in more than five hundred performances of dozen of plays .
In a very energetic session, Abhishek informed that he started doing theatre out of passion and that time he had no idea that he would take it professionally but eventually he got so engrossed in the might of theatre that it became his sole purpose. He asserts that theatre has given him a lot, moreover he gets respect from people just because he does theatre.
Natrang core team responsible for holding this national event includes Neeraj Kant, Anil Tickoo, Sumeet Sharma, Sanjeev Gupta, Mohd Yaseen, Brijesh Avtar Sharma, Vrinda Sharma, Meenakshi Bhagat, Gauri Thakur and Chander Shekhar. NSD Alumni and daughter of the soil, Bhasha Sumbli would be featured in this talk show on 8th of June, 2021.
