Early Times Report

Jammu, Jun14: The unfortunate problem of food shortage has been present around us for as long as one can remember, but it worsened due to economic consequences of Covid-19. Seeing this problem aggravated, the team of WCMP had left no stone unturned to cater to the needy.
In continuation of WCMP's food donation campaign that started last year with the onset of covid, its team arranged breakfast for over 60 kids in slum areas near Railway Station, Jammu today. This was WCMP's way of making the Sunday of the 'little angels' it impacted a little happier.
This event was not only aimed to benefit the kids, but also to encourage and inspire the local population of Jammu who are in considerably privileged positions to come forward and benefit those around them. A little management of resources be it time or money or food items, can significantly improve the life of someone. To quote a volunteer from Women Club's team who was present during the distribution drive, "For sure feeding 60 people once in a while seems small compared to the total number of people that need help, but instead of sitting around and waiting for more resources or for things to get better, one should act. If one doubts the power of small efforts, one must recall what Mother Teresa once said: 'If you can't feed a hundred people, feed just one' ".
Women Club expresses its immense gratitude to all those who supported this cause. It was because of them that the kids were fed today. On this occasion, Sandhya Gupta, chairperson, Women Club Meri Pehchaan shared that for her the smiles on the faces of the kids as they ate was the motivation she needed to continue this work. While some team members were on-ground facilitating today's event, the above-mentioned contributors were their back end support without which none of this would have been possible. Generous people like these restore our faith in humanity and encourage us to keep going.
