GCET organizes National level Webinar to commemorate 7th International Yoga Day

Jammu, June 20: The NSS unit of Govt. College 0f Engineering & Technology, Jammu today on 20th of June 2021 organized a National level Webinar to commemorate 7th International Yoga Day. The event was held under the supervision and able guidance of worthy Principal Dr. Sameru Sharma. Beside welcoming all the participants, she said that Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action and create harmony between man and nature. It’s a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature.
Around 150 participant, students and faculties registered and participated for the event from different colleges, schools and universities. The resource person of the event was Dr. Anil Gupta (BAMS, MD) who is working in J&K health department (AYUSH) as Medical Officer. The topic of his talk was “Yoga Practices for Prevention and Rehabilitation During COVID-19 Pandemic”. In his talk he very beautifully explained the importance of science of yoga consisting of various asana and kriya which are very helpful in rejuvenation of mind and body. Dr. Gupta said thatThe ministry of AYUSH has devised a universal protocol for common public and he explained this protocol with participants. The event was organized by NSS volunteers Ms. Sakshi Bhat, Paras Gupta and coordinated by Dr. Raman Gupta, Sr. Assistant Professor in Chemistry (NSS Programme Officer) GCET, Jammu.
He appealed to all the participants to aware public in their surroundings to follow the Yoga protocol and make yoga as part of their life. The event was ended with vote of thanks by senior NSS volunteer Mandeep Singh of the college. All the participants will be awarded with e-certificates for the event.
