Jammu, Jun 25: An Extension lecture was organized by department of Hindi of GDC Purmandal on the topic “Relevance of Kabir Literature in present times” to celebrate Kabir Jayanti also known as Kabir Prakat Diwas to commemorate the manifestation of saint Kabir Das Ji, a famous poet, mystic Saint and Social reformer of India. The whole event was conducted under the overall supervision and guidance of Prof. Seema Mir, Principal of the college. Speaking on the event through an online platform, Prof. Seema Mir, Principal GDC purmandal formally welcomed the Resource person, Dr. Renu Nanda (Retd. Associate Prof. of Hindi). The resource person, Dr. Renu Nanda, in her elaborated lecture said that Sant Shiromani Kabir Ji did not belong to any particular caste or community but is looked upon as a guide for the entire humanity. She said, he is the only poet of Bhakti kal who devoted his entire life to social reforms and the welfare of society. The programme ended with a formal vote of thanks presented by Dr. Sania Gupta (HOD, Hindi) through a virtual platform. The whole event is co- ordinated by Prof. Nirlape Kour (HOD, Pol. Science) and Prof. Shahima Akhter (HOD, E.V.S) and technically supported by Mr. Akshay (computer operator of the college).
