| Political representation for DPs of 1947 from POJK in Naya Kashmir : UTJK | | | Jammu, June 24: All party meeting convened at Delhi today seems to be incomplete and meaningless in the absence of all stakeholders of the Kashmir issue. POJK 1947 DPs who are languishing life of refugees in exile in their own country are still without any settlement, both financial as well as political. This is despite our repeated representations to Govt. in person through various meetings, through media, as well as despite the clear recommendation by Parliamentary Standing Committee of Home Affairs, GOI and State Govt. as well since 2014. Every political party invited to the meeting at Delhi has its own agenda and will uphold the party lines. What about more than 14 Lakh POJK 1947 DPs who are the first party to Kashmir issue and the most aggrieved still living in refugee camps even after seven decades where they were temporarily sheltered in 1950. MJR47 has wriiten number of letters to all concerned authorities viz. Delimitation Commission, PM and Union Home Minister in this regard and response is still awaited. The major demand of MJR47 for DPs of 1947 is release of the 24 seats for POJK displaced persons residing in this side of India . This organization has conveyed that the minute, detailed and commulative study of Section 14(3) and 14(4) reveals that till date the Legislative Assembly of J & K was being represented against the spirit of legislation by illegally deleting 24 seats to deprive the DPs of 1947 of political representation and to afford more seats to Kashmir region.
