Jammu police produces charge-sheet against 3 LeT militants

JAMMU, June 24: The Jammu police presented challan against three militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) in the Court of Special Judge NIA.
The chargesheet was presented against Raees Ahmed Dar, S/o Ghulam Hassan Dar, R/o Churat, Tehsil Devsar, Kulgam, Zahoor Ahmad Rather code Khalid, S/o Ghulam Hassan Rather, R/o Jal Kreen Dooru District Anantnag and Sabzar Ahmed Sheikh, S/o Ghulam Ahmed Sheikh, R/o Ashmuji District Kulgam.
During the course of investigation, it has come to fore that Zahoor Ahmad Rather code Khalid S/o Ghulam Hassan Rather R/o Jal Kreeri Dooru District Anantnag is an active militant of LeT(TRF) banned organization and in the month of November 2020 hatched a criminal conspiracy with Raees Ahmed Dar at his residence Churat Devsar District Kulgam and paid him some cash along with one mobile phone and directed him to transport some consignment of arms and ammunition from Narwal Jammu to Kashmir.
As per the instructions, accused Raees Ahmed Dar and Sabzar Ahmad received the recovered consignment of arms and ammunition from one unknown person at Narwal for which Raees Ahmed Dar paid Rs 70000 to him.
Due to blockade of road NHW both the accused could not move towards Kashmir valley on December 24, 2020, the next day both the accused were intercepted by the police component Jammu at Yard No 6 Narwal Jammu and the recovered arms and ammunition were seized.
On the above facts and circumstances section 120-B IPC has been deleted and section 23 ULA(P) Act has been added in the case, section 121/121-A, 122 IPC, 7/25 IA Act 18/23/38 ULA (P) Act have been proved against Raees Ahmed Dar, section 121/121-A, 122 (PC. 18/20/38 ULA (P) Act have been proved against Zahoor Ahmad Rather code Khalid whereas section 18/39/ ULA (P) Act have been proved against Sabzar Ahmed Sheikh.
During the course of investigation, Abbas Sheikh S/O Ghulam Hassan Sheikh R/o Rampura Qaimoh Kulgam, an unknown Molvi R/O Qazigund and an unknown person from whom accused Raees Ahmed Dar collected consignment of arms and ammunition besides one lady name Boba R/o Sadura have surfaced in the case. To ascertain their identity and their involvement in the instant case investigation will continue and after collecting evidence supplementary challan will be produced in the Court of law. FSL report from CFSL Chandigarh and FSL Srinagar is also awaited, on receiving FSL report the same will be submitted before the Court which will form part of this challan. Vehicle bearing No JK18A-9967 Alto Car white colour seized in this case has been kept in Police Station Bahu Fort Jammu.
The accused Raees Ahmed Dar and Zahoor Ahmad Rather code Khalid are presently lodged in District Jail Anantnag by the order of Court of Special Judge (Designated Court under NIA) Anantnag dated 21.05.2021 whereas accused Sabzar Ahmed Sheikh is lodged in Central Jan Kot Bhatwal on judicial remand up to 23.06.2021. Hence, Charge sheet against the accused persons is being submitted before the Court for favour of judicial determination. JNF
