Early Times Report

Srinagar, July 9: Asserting that the security situation is under control in Jammu and Kashmir, Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday said that nobody will be allowed to disrupt peace in the Union Territory.
“Security situation is under control in J&K as the security forces have an upper hand. No one will be allowed to tamper with the security situation in J&K. Nobody will be allowed to disrupt peace (in the UT),” Mr Sinha said on the sideline of a function in the summer capital, Srinagar, on Friday.
The LG said that GI tagging of products like Pashmina Shawl has been started to promote handicrafts of Kashmir Valley and work of market linkage is also underway.
“The J&K Industrial development department has done a commendable job. I think the local artisans will benefit from this.
The direction in which the department is heading will not only support local artisans but will also generate employment for youth,” he said.
He further said that proposals worth Rs 20,000 crore have been received by the Industry department. “The High Power Committee for Industries has approved some projects last week.
It is a good start and hopefully the positive results will be yielded in few weeks,” he added.
