7/13/2021 11:56:23 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, July 13: “The sentiments of the whole country are attached to you. And when I am looking at you all together, some things seem to be common. And when I see you, the common things are - Bold, Confident, and Positive. You see a common factor – Discipline, Dedication, and Determination. You have commitment as well as competitiveness”, these were the words of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi while interacting with India’s squad for India’s athletes contingent bound for Tokyo Olympics 2021, through virtual mode.
“These qualities are also of New India. That is why, you all are the reflection of New India, symbol of the future of the country. Some of you are from the South, some from the North, some from the East, some from the Northeast. Some have started their game from the fields of the village, while many of their friends have been associated with some sports academy since childhood. But now you all are part of ‘Team India’ here. You all are going to play for the country. This diversity, this ‘team spirit’ is the identity of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”, he said.
“All of you are a witness to how the country stands with a new thinking, a new approach for each of its players. Today your motivation is very important for the country.
You can play freely, play to your full potential, enhance your game, improve your technique, it has been given top priority”, he said and added that all possible help was given to all the players under the ‘Target Olympic Podium Scheme’.
Appreciating the players, the Prime Minister said, “You sweat for the country, carry the flag of the country, so it is the responsibility of the country to stand firmly with you. We have tried. Players for good training camps, for better equipment”.
“Now there are only 10 days left for the Olympics to start. You are going to get a different kind of atmosphere in Tokyo too. A lot has changed”, he said.
