JAMMU, July 16: Natrang's National Theatre Talk Show, 'Young Voices of Theatre' featured recipient of Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar by Sangeet Natak Akademi, in Theatre Acting, Rajinder Sharma 'Nanu' today.
Sharma shared his views with the global audience at the Facebook page of Natrang Jammu.
Recipient of Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi in Theatre Acting in 2007, Rajinder Sharma 'Nanu' is a Post Graduate in Theatre from Department of Indian Theatre, Punjab University, Chandigarh. Rajinder worked in Theatre-in-Education Company (Sanaskar Rang Toli) National School of Drama, New Delhi from 1996 to 2005 as an Actor-Teacher and is associated till now. Rajinder has acted in more than 30 plays as lead actor and thus worked under the guidance of eminent theatre directors of the country and directed more than15 plays.
In an interesting conversation with Nartang's senior artist Neeraj Kant, Rajinder narrated his journey of theatre which started in childhood through Ramleela.
Answering questions regarding children theatre, he was of the opinion that theatre for children is as essential as their studies. Theatre is not only acting, dancing or singing, it has the capacity to develop a child's personality and facilitate overall development. Thus helping the children through theatre and enriching his own-self simultaneously was a satisfying and rewarding task for him. An ardent theatre practitioner, Rajinder is not dependent on grants by government departments, he manages the finances of his theatre ventures through sponsorships etc.
Natrang's dedicated team which is managing this National event includes Suresh Kumar, Neeraj Kant, Anil Tickoo, Sumeet Sharma, Sanjeev Gupta, Vikrant Sharma, Mohd Yaseen, Brijesh Avtar Sharma, Gauri Thakur and Chander Shekhar. National School of Drama Alumni, theatre actor, director and designer, Vidisha Purohit would be featured in this talk show on 17th of July, 2021. |
