I-Day arrangement discussed at Udhampur
DC stresses on following COVID-19 SOPs

UDHAMPUR, July 17: To discuss the arrangements for the smooth celebration of Independence Day 2021 at District headquarter Udhampur, Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib convened a meeting of district officers of line departments, here at Conference Hall, DC Complex.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Kanta Devi; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohd Syed Khan; ASP, Anwar Ul- Haq; Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan; ACR Vikar Giri; ACD Mushtaq Choudhary and other senior officers from Civil Administration, Police, and CRPF were present in the meeting.
Detailed discussions were held on seating arrangement, barricading, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, sanitation, first-aid, PAS and fire-tenders etc.
It was decided in the meeting that the main function would be organized in the premises of Government Degree College Boys, where the VIP would unfurl the National flag at 9:00 Am.
The function would start with the Shehnai Vadan programme in the morning by the Information department.
The DC added that the celebration will be held amid strict adherence of COVID 19 SOPs. She advised all the participants to keep in view the safety and security of all and follow the COVID-19 SOPs issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare GOI from time to time.
The DC directed the Xens PHE & PDD to ensure seating, barricading and drinking water arrangements, besides uninterrupted power supply at the function site. The Chief Executive Officer, Municipality was asked to maintain cleanliness in the town as well as at the venue.
Regarding First aid arrangements, the Chief Medical Officer was directed to ensure the deployment of one ambulance along with a team of Doctors and necessary medicine till the end of function. District Police and Traffic Police would ensure security and traffic management, the DC added. Different committees like the Reception Committee, Illumination Committee, etc were also constituted for the successful celebration of the national function.
In view of COVID-19 pandemic , the DC reiterated that theme based cultural programme/ Skits like Catch the Rain, Skill, Telemedicine facility, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Corona awareness, Jal Jeevan Mission etc will be organized and recorded by following all COVID 19 SOPs well in advance and recording of these programmes will be played on the occasion.
The DC added that during these challenging times there will be a total digital presentation by the participating schools by leveraging the power of digital technology in the era of Information technology.
She also said that programmes and cultural items will be finalized by the committee. The DC asked DIO to explore the options of live telecast of these programmes in consultation with local cable operators so that people can enjoy these programmes at their homes.
