| CF appeals Chief Justice to convert Jammu Bus stand into a hospital | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 23: Citizens Forum (CF) has requested Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Jammu to help in completing half done projects and convert the Jammu Bus stand into a specialized hospital.
According to press release, the CF members said that the Jammu Bus stand cum shopping complex was wrongly build at the place, which lies just few metres from the two premier hospitals including SMGS hospital and Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu.
"The Jammu Development Authority constructed this Bus stand cum Shopping Mall at a cost of Rs.213.11 Crores but during its construction, the members of CF including former Chief Engineers, Ex . VC JDA and other highly technical officials had raised their objections in written as the construction of Bus stop is wastage of funds. The transportation and flowing of 500 to 600 busses with local vehicles rush will create enormous pollution which will affect all the GMC and hospitals located few yards from the site", the press release, reads, adding that CF had proposed that the building be converted into a specialised hospital rather than selling the shops as being done by JDA.
The CF members demanded the conversion of building into a hospital, which would help to mitigate the sufferings of Jammu's population. Alleging large scale corruption in the construction of Bus Stop complex, they also demanded a thorough enquiry into the issue. |
