BKS demands Satalite Duggar Channel in Jammu
7/29/2021 12:01:56 AM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 28: Slamming Doordarshan authority, Govt of India for its failure to decimate the functioning of Doordarshan Centre Jammu instead of upgrading it to full fledged Satellite Duggar Channel, Director Bhartiya Kala Sangam Jammu flayed the local BJP leadership for its pathetic attitude towards development and protection of Dogra Culture here.
Addressing a press conference today in which Surinder Singh Manhas, President All Artists Association, Rajinder Singh Samyal, noted film Director, Tilak Raj Tagotra, Chairman BKS were present, Romesh Singh Chib Director Bhartiya Kala Sangam made startling revelations that Jammu Doordarshan Kendra has been reduced to the status of almost relay unit immensely scuttling TV program recordings of Jammu Artists.
Reiterating the allegations of discrimination and depriving the Artists of Satellite Dugger Channel facilities in Jammu , Romesh Chib pointed out that Kashmir region has been provided its own Satellite Kashir Channel as well as independent Doordarshan Kendra since long exclusively meant to cater to the needs of Kashmiri art , culture and languages, which is welcome step, he bemoaned, adding that what wrong the artists of Jammu Division has done or our fault lies in being the part of Kashmir division left alone to suffer step motherly treatment at the hands of successive state and Centre Governments with now BJP Govt too taking no interest in uplifting the lot of Artists in Jammu Division despite taking up the matter in writing with concerned Ministry of Union Government at New Delhi , he maintained.
Taking a dig at the two MPs sent to Parliament of India by people of Jammu Division by thumping majority, Romesh Chib said that the artist fraternity was agog with optimism pinning hopes on our MPs that they would strive hard to get Doordarshan Centre Jammu upgraded to an independent Satellite Dugger Channel for the facilities local artists, but sadly, our hopes have been dashed to the ground, he rued.
