GDC Kalakote organizes poster making competition

KALAKOTE, July 28: Department of Environmental Science in Collaboration with Literary Club and EBSB Club of GDC Kalakote, with the support and guidance of Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal, GDC Kalakote organized online Poster making competition on the theme, "Protecting Mother Nature" to celebrate, World Nature conservation day.
The day is celebrated on July 28th every year all over the world in order to raise awareness about the significance of natural resources and encourage people about the practices of protecting natural resources. World Nature Conservation Day recognizes that a healthy environment is a foundation for a stable and productive society and to ensure the well-being of present and future generations, we all must participate to protect, conserve, and sustainably manage our natural resources.
The theme of the World Nature Conservation Day 2021 is 'Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet', around which the whole observation of this year will revolve.
Making this event successful, the students participated with great interest. While painting their beautiful thoughts dedicated to Mother Nature on the piece of paper they showcased their love, respect and concern towards it with great maturity. All the participants gave a tough competition to eachother and their efforts and hardwork was appreciated by all the three judges for this competition, which included Prof. Priyanka Kumari, Dr. Naseer-ud-din Sofi and Dr. Mohd. Shakoor (HOD Urdu). After keenly observing the detailing of all the Posters of the participants, the judges declared the top three winners and Surbi Raina (B.A Sem 4th), Pratibha Gupta (B.A Sem 2nd) and Bhumika kapoor (B.A Sem 4th) secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively. All the participants and the top three winners will be awarded with E-certificates. Dr. Romesh Kumar appreciated the hard work and dedication of the conveners of the organizing committees including Prof. Anayat-Ullah- Khan (Convener EBSB Club), Prof. Sheetal and Prof. Marve Sofi (Conveners, Literary and environment Club) and their team for giving students this platform. The programme ended with a vote of thanks presented by Prof. Marve Sofi.
