| DC discusses modalities with engineers | | Udhampur admin plans to establish Jal Shakti Kendra | |  Early Times Report
UDHAMPUR, Aug 17: District Administration Udhampur has planned to establish Jal Skhati Kendra (Rain Centre) for facilitating coordination of activities related to Water conservation in the district.
The modalities for the same were today discussed here at a meeting of different departments chaired by Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib here at Conference Hall of DC Office Complex.
Jal Shakti Kendra (Rain centre) would be established in the Jeevika Bhawan building, the meeting decided. Detailed discussions were held on various aspects, which included giving aesthetic look to the centre and provision of logistics for its smooth functioning. It was decided to appoint dedicated staff for running the Kendra and uploading the data related to Jal Shakti Abhiyan. The Kendra will showcase information regarding Bowli tourism, Urban & Rural structure rain water harvesting models and literature, Soil conservation technology methods, types of check dams and methodology. The Kendra will also keep records of Bowlies (Natural Springs) and Water storage tanks and regulate the Awareness generation activities etc. The Kendra will work as a nodal point for disseminating information with regard to water conservation/preservation among stakeholders. The DC called for close inter-departmental coordination for early establishment of Jal Shakti Kendra in the District. |
