Early Times Report

Rajouri, Aug 17: ISM Dispensary at village Kalal in Nowshera Sub Division of Rajouri district has been non functional as the doctor posted in the dispensary remains unauthorisedly absent and only visit once or twice a month due to which the residents of this border village had to suffer a lot.
A video has gone viral wherein the driver of an ambulance was seen prescribing medicines to the patients putting their lives in danger. The Sarpanch of the area Ramesh Choudhary claimed that as a matter of fact, few days back a Part Time Sweeper has been appointed by the department but ironically the Doctor is forcing PTS to remain on duty whole of the day and to pretend to every patient to come on next day making false excuses. He added that the local residents had to travel 30-40 kms to reach Nowshera even for minor medical treatments.
Even some media houses had managed to get an audio clip also, wherein a doctor was heard saying to one of the employees to keep the dispensary open and in case patients ask for a doctor then just inform them that the doctor will come the next day. Locals alleged that the doctor is indulged in private practice that is why she remains absent.
Sarpanch alleged that the doctor remained absent in the dispensary and had been withdrawing the salary for no work. He said that village Kalal being situated on the border remains disturbed and several cases injuries are reported during shelling by Pakistan but absence of the doctor, the first aid treatment is also not available to the injured even the patients with minor health issues had to visit Nowshera hospital. He alleged that he had lodged several complaints with the concerned authority but no action has been taken till date against the doctor. He urged the concerned BMO to take note of the issue and demanded stern action against the doctor for delinquency in her duties.
When contacted the ADMO Rajouri, he said that he had received the complaint about it from the concerned Sarpanch. He further informed that the doctor had already been suspended in the past also for showing delinquency in her duties. He assured that action will be taken as per law. He further said that he had informed Director ISM as well as DDC Rajouri in this connection.
