| DDC Kishtwar inspects progress of work on Dunadi-Bounjwah Road | | |

KISHTWAR, Aug 18: District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today visited the far flung area of Bounjwah to take first-hand appraisal of the status of Dunadi to Bounjwah Road and listen to grievances of the local public and PRIs.
He was accompanied by DDC member Amina Choudhary; ACD, Kishore Singh Katoch; Tehsildar Bounjwah Irshad Ahmad Bhat; BDO Bounjwah Anees Malik besides other officers of the line departments. During the inspection of the road, he directed the XEn PMGSY to expedite the pace of Black topping work and complete it in a given timeline without compromising on the quality. He further asked the PWD to expedite the black topping of Galot-Mori, Gunadi-Patnazi and Patnazi-Kither link roads. En-route he interacted with the locals and listened to their demands. The locals projected the demand for development of infrastructure including roads, augmentation of power, water supply, improvement of healthcare in health centers. The locals also complained about acute water scarcity. The DDC gave a patient hearing to the public and assured that all the genuine demands would be met in due course of time. The Power Development Department authorities were directed to restore the power supply to the far off village Kither on immediate basis.
Responding to the issue of the water scarcity problem in Tipri, Mori and Bandara villages , the DDC directed XEN PHE to clear the bottlenecks and address the drinking water issue on priority. Taking strong note of unauthorised absence and lackadaisical approach of employees in performing their legitimate duties, the DDC warned of making adverse entry in the Service Books of erring officials. He passed on spot directions to all the concerned officers and officials not to leave the station without the prior permission of Tehsildar.
