DC assess pace of development works, reviews implementation of Welfare Schemes, resolves people's grievances

SAMBA, Aug 21: District Administration Samba today held a public outreach programme at Community facilitation centre, Balore of Nud block to take the governance at people's doorsteps.
Deputy Commissioner Anuradha Gupta, in presence of District Development Council member Kartar Chand, assessed the pace of developmental activities, saturation of Public benefit schemes and listened to the people's grievances.
During the programme, Additional District Development Commissioner Tilak Raj Shastri; Block Development Council Chairman District Raj; Assistant Commissioner Development Sidharath Dhiman; Executive Engineers PWD, PDD, Jal Shakti, besides other district officers and sectoral officers were also present.
The outreach program witnessed the participation of local public and PRI members including Sarpanches, who appraised the DC regarding various issues faced by the local residents.
They demanded maintenance of rural road under PMGSY, adequate power supply, clean and hygienic drinking water supply, upgradation of Schools, Hospitals, CFC and other rural institution buildings. They further raised the issues of seasonal floods, non bifurcation of Ration cards, absence of Banking facility, Land issues in KVK, besides other local issues.
The Deputy Commissioner, while listening to the grievances directed district officers to clear the pendency with regard to Development works and submit an action taken report as well. The DC said regular awareness camps and public darbars are essential for creating a transparent and accountable administration.
During the Public Outreach progamme, the districts officers also briefed the public about various schemes executed by their respective departments.
