DC reviews arrangements for setting up of stalls at Jammu Haat exhibition

JAMMU, Aug 21: Deputy Commissioner Anshul Garg today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for organizing exhibition at Jammu Haat, here at a meeting.
Additional Secretary J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn; CPO Yoginder Katoch; General Manager District Industries Centre (DIC) Subah Mehta; Assistant Director Information Shabnam Jaipuria along with senior officers from Tourism, Handicraft & Handloom and Archives, Archeology and Museum were present in the meeting.
The General Manager District Industries Centre, who is also the Liaison Officer to coordinate with other concerned departments for setting up of stalls at Jammu Haat, apprised the Deputy Commissioner regarding certain requirements to highlight District Jammu such as photographs of religious places, tourist places, heritage places border tourism, Adventure Tourism, Dogra culture, food, dresses and local produce etc.
The Tourism department was asked to provide photos along with frames with little description of places and monuments and videos of tourist places for display at Jammu Haat.
The Archives department was asked to provide photographs of historic spots and artifacts related to the culture of Jammu. The Information Department was asked to provide videos highlighting specific places and achievements of Jammu district.
The Academy of Art Culture and Languages was directed to provide Dogra dress and other cultural items for display. Similarly, Handicrafts and Handloom department was asked to provide items related to Dogra culture such as Chabri, Charkha, Chajja, Kundi, Danda, Charpai itc.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the officers to work in synergy with other departments and provide the requisite items to DIC well before the time for smooth installation of stalls at Jammu Haat.
