DC Ramban holds public outreach camp at Batote

RAMBAN, Aug 21: As part of weekly field visits, Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mussarat Islam, today visited Fruit Mandi Batote and interacted with principal stakeholders to make it one stop centre for fruit and vegetable business.
He urged the fruit and vegetable growers to strengthen their market linkages to cater to potential markets falling in the axis of NH-44 and NH-244.
BDC, Chairperson, Batote Rajeshvar Bhagat and President, Municipal Committee, Batote, Ravinder Singh, besides Additional Deputy Commissioner Harbans Lal; Ex. MLA Neelam Langeh; Executive Engineer of PDD, Nisar Hussain; AMO, Sunil Bakshi; PRIs and representatives from fruit and vegetable business were present on the occasion.
During the inspection of the Mandi, the DC impressed upon the farmers to avail the facility by selling their vegetables and fruit produce in an organized way.
The DC also asked the shopkeepers and local traders of the area to buy fruits and vegetables from this Mandi to make it successful.
Later, the BDC Chairperson and President Municipality highlighted the demands and issues related to Batote area development.
After hearing the public issues, the DC assured them early redressal of the same.
The DC also interacted with the public representatives of PRIs and discussed various issues including promoting Batote as an independent tourist destination which shall help in creating job opportunities for the local people.
