Faculty development program concludes at SMVDU

KATRA, Aug 23: The valedictory session of a weeklong online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Incorporating Universal Human Values in Education" from 18-22 August 2021 concluded at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU).
During the FDP, the participants were introduced to Universal Human Values, enabling them to connect to their students and guide them towards ensuring harmony in their personal and professional lives. Sessions of the FDP were conducted by faculty of SoPC, SMVDU and Mr. Sanjeev Chopra, Member, Cell for Human Values and Transformative Learning, SCERT, Delhi. The participants of the FDP were teachers of schools, colleges and universities from across India and faculty of SMVDU.
The FDP was organized by the Faculty Development Center (FDC), approved under the PMMMNMTT scheme of the MoE, GoI, in collaboration with the School of Philosophy & Culture (SoPC) at SMVDU.
The valedictory session began with a formal welcome and report on the FDP by Dr. Anil Kumar Tewari, Asst. Prof., SoPC and Organizing Secretary of the FDP. Sumanta Sarathi Sharma, I/C Head SoPC and Convener of the FDP, delivered the welcome address. The chief guest of the program, Dr. Supran Kumar Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Management and Chairperson, FDC, highlighted the role of human values in the changing and challenging transition from offline to online teaching-learning environment.
He emphasized that human values are an essential component of such programs which aim at "Training the Trainers", in this case, the teachers. Dr. Madhu Mangal Chaturvedi, Asst. Prof., SoPC and the coordinator of the FDP delivered the vote of thanks.
