NHPC, PFC sign MoU for mutual cooperation to undertake Hydropower Projects

JAMMU, Aug 24: With a view to expand NHPC’s Energy Portfolio in Hydroelectric Power Projects development & acquisition of assets through NCLT, an MoU was signed today between NHPC Limited and PFC Limited.
The MoU was signed by VK Maini, Executive Director (SBD & C), NHPC and Subir Saha, Executive Director (Projects- SR, ER & NER, CSP & C), PFC. Praveen Kumar Singh, Director (Commercial) along with senior officers of PFC and senior officers of Strategy, Business Development and Consultancy Department of NHPC were also present on the occasion.
As per MoU, PFC shall provide financial assistance to the projects being developed/ to be developed by NHPC (particularly projects under Joint Venture route) and shall also support NHPC in participation of various bids by providing financial commitment required for taking over the stressed Projects, on case to case basis.
As per MoU, NHPC will provide expert advice on ongoing Hydro projects funded by PFC. NHPC will also undertake O&M activities of Hydroelectric projects taken over by PFC. This MoU will facilitate knowledge and technology transfer towards sustainable development of Green Energy Projects.
