FOB Udhampur organizes photo-exhibition

UDHAMPUR, Aug 25: The Field Outreach Bureau, Udhampur, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India today organised a two days photo-exhibition on 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav' at Town Hall, Udhampur. Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Indu Kanwal Chib, inaugurated the photo-exhibition.
While inaugurating the photo-exhibition, DC Udhampur said that freedom for the country came at a great cost, and this exhibition seeks to narrate the story behind those sacrifices. She further said that the main aim behind organising these exhibitions is to make people aware especially the young generation of New India about the freedom fighters including the unsung heroes who sacrificed their lives for this country during the freedom movement.
Field Publicity Officer, Udhampur, Khursheed Yousuf while welcoming the Chief Guest and other guests said that this exhibition under 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav' is a first of kind in the district and will be highlighting the contribution of freedom stalwarts like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Subhash Chandra Bose etc. by displaying rare pictures and videos of the freedom struggle of India.
Syed Shameem Andrabi, Field Exhibition Officer, J&K in his address during the exhibition said that this grand exhibition is displaying rare footage dedicated to different historical events happened during the freedom struggle of India like the Dandi March started by Mahatma Gandhi, the glimpses of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel during the freedom struggle, and of Subhash Chandra Bose and others.
The students from various institutes and the local population across Udhampur district visited the exhibition throughout the day.
