JAMMU, Aug 25: The Government Degree College (GDC) Chenani launched an 'Action and Research based Campaign' on Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and Vaccination Promotion from 9th to 24th Aug. 2021.
The team visited the areas in and around the villages Bhatna, Ghantwal & Chimpari, Tehsil Chenani and the famous tourist spot Patnitop and interacted with the local population. The Program was undertaken as part of Psychosocial Helper Skills Workshop under the Mahatma Gandhi National Council for Rural Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
It has been observed that with the lifting of restrictions for movement, people are flocking the tourist destinations in enormous numbers and COVID Appropriate Behaviour as per the Covid-19 SoPs has become a causality. The famous tourist destination (Patnitop) in the district Udhampur has witnessed massive footfall of tourists who are seen violating social distance norms and avoid wearing of masks even.
A flock of students lead by Manish Kumar, a COVID warrior of BA fourth semester interacted with the tourists and appealed to not be complacent in the wake of easing restrictions, they sensitized them that following COVID Appropriate Behaviour is the key to combating the pandemic.
