| Congress discusses various issues during monthly meeting | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Sept 4: To discuss the various issues, problems and demands of the public, Hiranagar Block Congress held monthly meeting at Hiranagar, wherein Senior Congress leader and Former MLC Subash Gupta presided over.
During the meeting, a large number of Panches, Sarpanches and other activists participated and raised various issues pertaining to the public of their area.
The representatives mainly highlighted demands like providing district status to Hiranagar, non-availability of ration, shortage of drinking water, problems faced by people residing on the border, worst condition of link roads and above most the students facing problem in getting admission to Hiranagar Degree College.
Subash Gupta after listening to the problems of the representatives said that escalating hardships of public and lackadaisical attitude of the UT regime toward the redressal of the problems had proved that UT governance as well the union government had turned Nelsons’ eye towards public.
Gupta referring to the problem of the student fraternity said that government boasts of right to education but the fact and the figures are just opposite to that. He said that it is the ill fate of the public of Hiranagar as well as of students those which are wandering to get admission in the college.
“It is his out of knowledge that how the seats could be cut short when the number of the students is increasing every year,” he irked adding that when the college is having infrastructure for 800-900 students then why the seats has been limited to 300+? Subash Gupta appealed Governor Manoj Sinha to interfere in the matter so that the students could not get their future spoiled.
Regarding other issues and demands Subash Gupta assured participants that the demands would be raised at viable levels. Prominent among others were present during the meeting are Yugal kishor bali, Parveen bhagat, Tarsem lal,Dr Rajinder singh, Ashok Kumar, Sharma, Harbhajan singh Saini, Bhagwan Dass, Sat pal choudhry, Morari Lal, Yash pal sharma, K c bhagat, Kishor kumar, Basakhi ram, Ruldoo Ram.
