Tony demands COVID-19 vaccine centre at Baspur Bungalow
9/4/2021 11:40:45 PM
Early Times Report

RS PURA, Sept 4: DDC Member Suchetgarh T S Tony on Saturday demanded an exclusive vaccination centre at village Baspur Bungalow as the people living in the border belt are facing a lot of hardships in administering vaccine jabs at vaccine centres located in R S Pura and other places.
In a meeting convened here at Suchetgarh, he sought the aforesaid centre in the Baspur Bungalow village claiming that the place is the central point of about 40 villages and a vaccination centre here will provide a sigh of relief to huge population living in these villages as they are presently facing lots of hardships in getting their vaccine shots in R S Pura as the time when they reach the centres already a long queue of locals comprising hundreds of men and women awaits them and very often they have to return without getting jabs. He said this is sheer injustice and therefore concerned officials should not waste more time in setting up vaccination centre at the aforesaid village because as per reports the third wave of the pandemic is also knocking the doors.
Others present in the meeting include SDM Ram Lal Sharma, CMO, BMO Dr Satish Bhagat.
Citing LG Manoj Sinha’s resolve to inoculate 30 lakhs people in a month's time, Tony asked the CMO to ensure that the vaccination centre at Baspur Bungalow continues till the last man in the queue gets vaccinated and no one is left without vaccination. He expressed gratitude to the Lt Governor for showing serious concern towards rural areas.
The DDC member asked the CMO to personally visit the aforesaid village and assess the status so that the vaccination centre can be opened as soon as possible to provide succor to nearly 40 villages situated along zero line of the international border. He said that this vaccination will help the border dwellers in many ways as they are busy with the farming activities and as such a lot of time will be saved by this initiative. Upon this, the CMO directed the BMO Dr Satish to ensure that by Monday the aforesaid vaccination centre be made operational as there are over 10,000 youths in the vicinity which are still awaiting vaccination.
Besides, Tony also appealed to continue the vaccine drive at the Chakroi centre till every soul in the vicinity gets a vaccine jab. He also demanded similar centres at Panchayats Badyal Kazian and Maghovali. He made it clear that Panchayat Maghovali falls under the Jurisdiction of BMO Bishnah Dr J P Singh and therefore CMO should approach him to do the needful for opening the centre shortly.
Among those who accompanied the DDC Member Sarpanch Baspur Bangla, Sukhdev Singh Manhas, Sarpanch Chakroi Sham Lal Bhagat, Naib Sarpanch Chakroi Roshan Bhagat, Bodh Raj Bodhu and Surinder Singh Chib.
