| Keep youth away from drugs, provide adequate sports facilities: Reeta Thakur | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
BANI, Sept 4: As part of the ongoing ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, a race was organized here today in the presence of DDC member Bani, Smt Reeta Thakur and SDM Bani Joginder Jasrotia. Other prominent persons present on the occasion were ZMO Dr Rameshwar Singh, BMO Dr Radhakrishnan and SHO Bani.
Today’s programme to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was organized by Bharat Sports Club Bani. Thirty sprinters participated in the race that constituted significant part of the programme. After culmination of the race the names of the winners were announced by the panel constituted to judge the event. The top 5 sprinters in the race were honoured with Sports Shoes and T-Shirts while all the sprinters were presented with participation mementoes amidst thunderous applause from the audience.DDC Bani Member, Smt Reeta Thakur in her address on the occasion while appreciating such endeavours in far flung areas said that the youth who have nothing to get entertained in the area can be keep away from drugs after availability of adequate sports facilities in the area. She also conveyed to the SDM to initiate proactive measures in order to ensure proper sports infrastructure and facilities to the youth. SDM Joginder Jasrotia along with other guests while hailing the participants also advised them to stay away from drugs and motivated them to make their career in sports as it is quite lucrative as well as keeps one healthy. He assured that Administration will do everything possible to upgrade the sports facilities in the area.
The participants as well as the audience appreciated today’s programme conducted by Bharat Sports Club president Hafiz Qureshi and hoped that more such programmes will be conducted in future too. Former Deputy Speaker Haider Malik was also present. |
