Holy Kailash Yatra concludes
9/6/2021 11:27:31 PM
Early Times Report

BHADERWAH, Sept 6: The three-day revered Kailash Yatra concluded with the performing of the ages-old traditional rituals by the priests of Jammu and Kashmir Dharmarth Trust here today.
Advocate Ajay Gandotra, President J&K Dharmarth Trust said that like every year the Trust this year too had put in place all the necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Yatra. Elaborating the arrangements, he said that the Trust is highly thankful to District Administration for allowing Yatra amid Covid-19 precautions and especially to ADC office Bhaderwah that provided all the necessary support.
Moreover, Ajay Gandotra thanked the J&K Police for providing adequate security during the Yatra from Kalinag to Kailash Kund.
He also thanked the Forest Department for providing firewood at Kailash Kund and also to Jal Shakti Department for ensuring ample supply of drinking water during the Yatra. Last but not the least; J&K Dharmarth Trust President expressed profound thanks to Kailash Sewa Sangh Trust for providing Langar at Kailash Kund besides augmenting the ground support at every stage of the holy Yatra.
Meanwhile, Gandotra said that due to the rise in COVID-19 cases in J&K Union Territory the government had decided to cut short the Yatra period to three days only, a decision that was accordingly followed by the Trust. “The 10-day-long Yatra had been cut short to three days with only Chhari (Holy Mace) to be allowed from the traditional Hayan route. The Charri Mubarak of Holy Kailash Yatra has returned back from Kailash Kund to ancient Vasuki Nag Temple, Gatha in Bhaderwah on Monday after performing all the traditional rituals as per the past practice,” he said.
Arjun Singh, Manager of Dharmarth Trust along with a few devotees and Pujaris after due permission of the local administration have left along with Chhari Mubarak, Gandotra informed.
It is pertinent to mention here that Kailash Kund is a lake of 1.5 mile circumference with crystal clear water and it is located at a height of over 17,700 feet from the sea level.
As per mythological belief, the Kailash Kund was the original abode of Lord Shiva, but he later gave it to Vasuki Nag and went to live in Manimahesh of Himachal Pradesh’s Bharmour.
