GDC Jindrah holds a plantation drive

JAMMU, Sept 6: The NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Jindrah conducted a plantation drive for the second consecutive day in Jindrah village to celebrate month long “Poshan Maah”.
The NSS volunteers earlier in the whole rainy season of this year had conducted around ten plantation drives in the five Panchayat viz., Jindrah, Dhan, Nagola, Pounthal, and Kahpota. Around two thousand saplings of different trees were planted in different villages that fall under the jurisdiction of these Panchayats.
The main areas covered under these Panchayats were Govt. Middle School, Shanu; Devak at Jindrah; Bawa Jakh Mandir, Jakhyari at Dhan Panchayat; Middle School, Dispensary, and Panchayat Ghar in Chulana village of Pounthal panchayat ; different villages situated in kahpota and Jindrah Panchayat; Shiv Mandir of Nagola Panchayat; Govt. Degree College, Jindrah etc.
All the plantation drives was done under the supervision of Dr. Sunil Sharma, Program officer, NSS Unit of GDC Jindrah who was wholeheartedly accompanied by the whole NSS team and Volunteers. Prof. Rajshree Dhar, principal, GDC Jindrah congratulated the whole NSS team for their remarkable contribution in the interest of the environment and people at large. All the events of plantation drive was compiled by Dr. Seema, Librarian and member of NSS team of GDC, JIndrah. The locals also very enthusiastically participated in all the events. All the drives were very much appreciated by the locals of the concerned Panchayats.
