DC Jammu reviews progress of District Capex plan, NABARD works

JAMMU, Sept 7: Deputy Commissioner, Anshul Garg today reviewed the ongoing/new works proposed under District Capex Budget plan 2021-22 including NABARD, DDC, BDC and PRI components.
At the outset, threadbare discussions were held about the status of works undertaken by PWD, Urban Development and Jal Shakti under UT/NABARD component, PHE and R&B under PRI component and PHE under DDC component to cater to the developmental needs of the district with focus on strengthening grassroots level democracy.
Regarding the status of NABARD funded works, the concerned official informed the chair that a total 38 works have been approved under PWD out of which 35 have been tendered, 28 allotted, 25 are under execution and 8 have been completed.
It was also informed that under Jal Shakti mission out of 47 works, 40 have been tendered, 33 allotted, 14 are under execution and 6 have been completed. It was further informed that out of 26 approved works under Urban Development, 19 have been tendered, 6 have been allotted, 5 are under execution and 5 stand completed. Under DDC plan 2021-22, all 8 PHE works have been tendered and 2 allotted, while 20 PHE works and 30 R&B works have been approved under PRI plan. Speaking on the occasion, the DC stressed on the concerned authorities to take all possible measures to accelerate the pace of ongoing works for their time-bound completion. He also cautioned that any kind of laxity in completing the works within the fixed time line will not be tolerated at all.
The Deputy Commissioner exhorted for mobilizing men and machinery for completing the projects in stipulated time frame besides urged to ensure productive and fruitful utilization of the available resources.
CPO Yoginder Katoch besides other senior officers of the concerned departments such as PWD, RDD, Jal Shakti were present in the meeting.
