GDC Jindrah observes International Literacy Day

JAMMU, Sept 8: The NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Jindrah in collaboration with Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat (EBSB) Club organized a poster making competition on the eve of International Literacy Day.
The NSS volunteers participated in the poster making contest on the theme International Literacy Day which aimed at making people more aware of Literacy and its importance in acquiring skills required for performing various tasks. The NSS volunteers displayed various posters reflecting the theme in a unique way which was very much appreciated by Prof Rajshree Dhar, Principal, GDC Jindrah. She congratulated the winners and students for their active participation.
The whole competition was conducted under the supervision of Dr Sunil Sharma, Program officer, NSS Unit of GDC Jindrah. Prof Poonam Rainu, Prof Jasneet and Dr Seema acted as jury members for the event. Himani of sixth semester stood first in the competition. The second position was grabbed by Reena Devi and Supriya placed at third position. These girls also hailed from the sixth semester. Dr Seema, Librarian and member of NSS team of GDC, Jindrah recorded and compiled the whole event. The Principal and staff cheered the winners and applauded their efforts on the day.
