Early Times Report

Rajouri, Sept 8: While Jammu and Kashmir grows to multitudinal expenses on all developmental fronts, yet there are certain lacunas that keep hampering the system, thus causing impediments to the progress.
Such glaring examples are common at Rajouri, Sunderbani where the education system is yet to be taken under cognizance for clean tutoring.
It has been alleged by the residents of the area that there are many government schools in the vicinity of the area that are not following the protocol of the education system due to covert plans executed at departmental hierarchies.
In some schools of Rajouri, Sunderbani, it has been reported that instead of giving charge to general line teachers to conduct physical education activities for the children, booth level officers (BLOs) are conducting PTI exercises which is against the rules and guidelines of the education department.
Through sources, this correspondent came to know that certain clandestine plans are devised at the lower hierarchy at Zonal Education Officers who are in hand in gloves with clerical staff and are issuing orders for the BLOs to act as physical education teachers in these schools.
When an objection was raised and district sports officers called upon to check the corrupt practices, he expressed ignorance. It was however that these orders for BLOs were released by the clerics in ZEOs which have ruined the system in the schools.
It is a general practice however that the teachers in the schools, either for academic pursuits or for physical education training only GLTs are supposed to be placed. But in Rajouri, Sunderbani, corrupt practices are at galore which are finding great opposition from the parents of the students who have requested district development commissioner Rajouri to take the cognizance of the matter and bring culprits to the courts.
District sports officer however has assured that he will send a team to the various schools where such practices are being exercised and will take all necessary actions to set the system right.
