BJP proved ‘Unchi Dukan Feeka Pakwan’ for people of Jammu: Tony
9/8/2021 10:54:36 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

RS PURA, Sept 8: DDC Member Suchetgarh Taranjit Singh Tony on Wednesday said that BJP has proved out to be ‘Unchi Dukan Feeka Pakwan’ for the people of Jammu as it toed the line of Kashmir-based political parties after coming to power killing the aspirations of people who stood strongly behind the party like a mountain.
In a statement issued to media, the DDC member said that the saffron party has backstabbed the people belonging to its strong bastion Jammu by first compromising its ideology to come into power in league with PDP surrendering the interests of the people brazenly and now also appeasing Kashmir for loaves and fishes as its leadership knows well that Jammu’s electorate alone cannot help them to grab the power. Tony said that this will cost dearly to BJP as people are watching the whole gamut closely and will teach a lesson to ‘overwhelmed’ leadership of ruling party.
The DDC Member said that people of Jammu had lots of expectations from the BJP but the party hoodwinked them after getting into power and turned its face towards Kashmir knowing the fact that the way to power corridor goes through Valley and not Jammu. “During coalition with PDP also, the BJP ministers instead of working for the people who brought them to power indulged in running transfer industry and minting money giving two hoots to the issues of people of Jammu region. Even the promise made by its own leadership that there will be a holiday on Maharaja Hari Singh’s birthday was also not fulfilled, irking the people much and showing the world that BJP plays the politics of deceit and deception,” Tony said.
The DDC member however appealed to the J&K Administration to install a statue of Maharaja Ranbir Singh at RS Pura, which is named after the great Dogra King. He also alleged that Suchetgarh remained neglected in over a decade of BJP rule despite having great potential as far as tourism is concerned.
He also reminded about the fate of Jammu Tawi Artificial Lake, the work of which has been stopped due to spoilsport by the BJP government in the past. He also raised the issue of developing Chamblyal Shrine in Ramgarh area of Samba as the same has much significance in the eyes of people of Jammu region and even from across the border.
