KVK Poonch kick starts certificate course on Integrated Nutrient Management

POONCH, Sept 8: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Poonch working under the auspices of Directorate of Extension, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) today kick started 15 days certificate course on “Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) for Input Dealers”. The programme was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-J Dr JP Sharma through online mode. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the dealers/retailers are an important link between company and farmers and key change agents in motivating the farmers to use fertilizers in a balanced manner. The fertilizers and manures are important for crop growth and development and help to pay good dividends to farmers in return. Speaking on the occasion, Director Extension, Dr. SK Gupta said that for healthy and bulk crop the role of nutrients is quite essential and the bulk of major nutrients are supplied through the fertilizers. Sr. Scientist & Head, KVK Poonch, Dr Ajay welcomed the participants and discussed the role of nutrients and manures in plat nutrition. He highlighted the role of such training programmes so that the dealers in addition to running their businesses may actually help the farmers to use the particular fertilizers based upon the crop and crop requirement. Dr Muzaffar Mir also interacted with participants and discussed the importance of integrated nutrient management in view of modernized farming in relation to fruit crops. Dr. Mushtaq Guroo presented a detailed schedule of course that shall be carried out during 15 days period. On the occasion, Subject Matter Specialist, Des Raj Barua from Agriculture Department was also present. Mohd Qasim KVK Poonch presented vote of thanks at the end of programme.
