9/8/2021 10:56:47 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Sept 8: DDC Chairman Jammu, Bharat Bhushan on Wednesday asserted that the government is committed to all round development of Jammu and Kashmir and no fragment of the Union Territory will remain untouched as far as progress and growth are concerned.
The DDC Chairman was interacting with a delegation led by BDC Chairmen Chowki Choura and Maira Mandirain here at his office. The delegation consisted of BDC Chairman Chowki Choura, Rahul Dev, BDC Chairperson Maira Mandirain Sushma Devi, Panchs and Sarpanchs.
During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held on issues related to strengthening of PRIs, healthcare services, education, works concerning Rural Development and central sponsored schemes. The delegation demanded that there is an urgent need to focus on uninterrupted power and regular supply of tapped water as both these are basic amenities and the government should ensure the availability without any hindrance.
Upon this, the DDC Chairman assured that tapped water and round the clock electricity will be made available soon as this is one of the promises which the government has made to the public.
Another major issue which came to light during the meeting was the liability of MGNREGA which was reportedly pending for the last three years.
The DDC Chairman asked the visiting Panchayat Bodies member to disseminate information about the public welfare schemes launched by the Modi Government so that every eligible beneficiary can avail maximum benefit out of the same.
Others present include Sarpanch Barnai Rashpal Sharma, Panch Chowki Ravi Kumar, Sarpanch Kiyur Rattan Lal, Sarpanch Kathar, Rohit, former Sarpanch Kandi, Sham Lal, former Sarpanch Dhana Jarala, Radhey Sham, Ex Sarpanch Chora, Romesh Chander, Panch Mohan Kaneri, Rakesh Kumar and Panch Mandal BD Sharma
