J&K to get back statehood in near future: BJP
9/8/2021 10:59:05 PM
Early Times Report

Srinagar, Sept 8: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said that statehood would be restored to Jammu and Kashmir in the near future as committed by Prime Minister Narandra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on the floor of the House.
“A commitment was made by the Prime Minister and the Home Minister on the floor of the house. I’m of the opinion that it was on the anvil. We believe that our leaders will fulfill the promises. We believe that statehood will be restored soon,” BJP J&K General Secretary (Organization) Ashok Kaul said during a function in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal.
Kaul said that the BJP has gained confidence of every person cutting across the lines of region or religion. “Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are fast moving on the path of peace and progress and BJP is here to ensure this,” he said.
He said the Modi-led government has won hearts of minorities in the country, while other political parties in the past misused them and considered them as a mere vote bank. A BJP spokesperson on Wednesday said that more than a dozen political and social activists from Ganderbal joined the BJP here pledging to ‘strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the development of the Union Territory’.
“The political activists who joined the BJP included Councilor Municipal Council Ganderbal Majeed Mir, Sarpanch Rayil Imran Ahmed Bhat, Panch Ghulam Mohammad Khan, Deputy Sarpanch Wasen Mir Qasim Khan, Panch Gutlibagh Mumtaz Bano, former District Secretary National Conference Er Ajaz Ahmed Rather, Deputy BDC Lar Abdul Rashid Ganie.
Welcoming them into the party fold, Mr Kaul said their joining will further strengthen the BJP in the valley and asked them to render their whole-hearted services for the benefit of common masses as representative of BJP in their respective areas.
