Court rejects bail plea of lady involved in NDPS

JAMMU, Sept 16: Principal Sessions Judge Kulgam Tahir Khurshid Raina has rejected the bail application of one Shameema who was involved in NDPS Case. While rejecting the bail application, Principal Sessions Judge Kulgam observed that the prosecution as narrated in the charge sheet is that on 15-11-2020, Police concerned received information through reliable sources that husband and wife namely Ghulam Mohammad Laway and Shameema were selling the intoxicating drugs (Charas) to the youths on the exorbitant rates. After receiving this information, search warrant was obtained from the Executive Magistrate 1st. Class Kulgam and the residential house of the accused was searched. This led to registration of case No. 208/2020 u/s 8/20, NDPS Act with Police Station Kulgam. During course of investigation 2 kgs 500 grains of Charas were recovered from the kitchen of residential house of accused. Consequently, strict bail provision as contained under section 37 NDPS Act are attracted in the instant matter.
