DDC Chairperson Ramban reviews progress on District Capex Plan, 2021-22, Area Development Funds

RAMBAN, Sept 16: District Development Council, Ramban today met under the chairmanship of its Chairperson, Dr. Shamshad Shan to review progress on works identified and achievements made under District Capex Plan (DCP) 2021-22 and Area Development Fund besides other schemes.
The project and plan wise review of different sectors including Rural Development Department, PMGSY, PWD and Jal Shakti was held in detail.
Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam also joined the meeting.
BDC Chairpersons, DDC Councilors, Additional District Development Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Executive Engineers of R&B, PMGSY, Jal Shakti and other concerned Engineers and Officers were present in the meeting.
The meeting discussed the plan proposals in detail, including physical status of projects under DDC, BDC and Panchayat components, besides Area Development Funds, targeted for completion of the current fiscal, and progress of works under Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
Reviewing the Action Plan prepared to execute the developmental works in the district under Area Development Fund, the DDC Chairperson directed the executing departments to expedite tendering process for the approved works to facilitate the construction work within two weeks.
She directed the departments to work in coordinated manner and in consultation with PRIs.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC highlighted the role of DDCs, BDCs and Panchayat members. He said that the District Development Plan has assumed immense significance after the formulation of District Development Councils, Block Development Councils and Pnachayats.
He informed that for the first time proportionate funding to all three tiers of PRIs is being ensured to cater to the development aspirations of the people.
The ADDC also reviewed progress made by the departments and directed them to put in extra efforts to achieve the targets. He also informed that the Council is going to constitute standing committees as prescribed in the three tiers Panchayati Raj System Act.
Earlier, the concerned departments informed the meeting about targets, progress and achievements recorded under different schemes during last and the current fiscal.
