Jammu, Sep 17: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav launched the cleanliness drive during the 'Swachhta Pakhwada' on Railways with a visit to New Delhi Railway Station. Chairman and CEO, Railway Board, Sunit Sharma, General Manager, Northern Railway, Ashutosh Gangal, Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi Division, Dimpy Garg and several senior railway officers of Railway Board and Northern Railway were present on the occasion.
On reaching the station, Vaishnav was apprised about the method of cleaning the station platform and tracks. He showed interest in a floor sweeping scooter installed through a rail coach. He drove the scooter on the platform to sweep the floor himself for some distance on the platform. He was also presented a jacket and cap designed especially for the cleanliness drive by the Scouts and Guides volunteers.
Railway Minister also inaugurated IRCTC’s 24X7 Food Court at New Delhi Railway Station.
