COVID: Except vaccinated staff, lawyers, entry of people barred in J&K, Ladakh courts

Srinagar, Sept 17: The J&K and Ladakh High Court (HC) has barred entry of common people while only vaccinated staff and lawyers will be allowed to enter the courts in the Union Territories in view of unabated rise in the number of fresh COVID-19 cases.
“Keeping in view the rising trend of COVID-19 Infection cases in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh particularly In Kashmir and the strong apprehension of the third wave of Covid-19, the Registrars Judicial of both wings of the High Court and the Principal District Judges of all Districts of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh are directed to strictly adhere to the protocol issued by the High Court,” read an order issued by Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal.
The order further said that the Advocates and all other stakeholders shall cooperate with the concerned officers/officials of the High Court/District Judiciary in implementing the protocol in letter and split.“The Registrars Judicial shall ensure that except officers/officials of the Registry and Advocates, no other person is permitted entry in the High Court/District Court building and only those shall be permitted entry who are fully vaccinated and possess certificate in this regard,” it said.
“The Registrars Judicial and District Judges concerned shall ensure complete sanitization of the court building twice in a week,” the order added. Meanwhile, the administration has upped the ante on people violating COVID-19 guidelines in view of the summer capital, Srinagar turning into a hotspot for fresh Coronavirus cases amid gross violations of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) imposed to curtail the spread of the pandemic. Besides, Srinagar several others district of the Union Territory are also witnessing rise in the number of fresh COVID-19 cases.
