GPGCW Gandhi Nagar organises online inter college Essay writing competition

JAMMU, Sept 23: Department of Hindi, Govt. P.G College for Women Gandhi Nagar Jammu today organized Online Inter College Essay Writing Competition on the topic "Relevance of Hindi in Present times" in continuation to the series of activities to celebrate Hindi Pakhwara under the banner of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav.
A total 35 students of different constituent colleges of Cluster University of Jammu participated in the event. Vishali Kumari, Student of 2rd Semester bagged 1st Position, while Arti charak, Semester 4th got 2nd position and Shilpa Devi of Semester 6th bagged 3rd position. Waheeda Rehman and Harmeet Kour of Semester 4th shared consolation prize.
Merit certificates were also presented to the winners of the competition.
Prof Urmila Rani of GDC Akhnoor, Dr Bindu Chib of GDC Poonch and Dr. Vijender Kumar, GCW Gandhi Nagar were the jury members.
Dr Sangita Nagari, Principal of the college appreciated the faculty members of Department of Hindi for organizing the event. Highlighting the significance of the event, Dr. Nagari emphasised that such creative competitions are important as they enhance the inner ability and creativity of students. The Event was managed by Prof Poonam, under the guidance of Dr Maharaj Krishan Mussa, HOD, Department of Hindi. Dr Musssa said that in this pandemic when online teaching is going on, students have to participate in various such academic activities to enhance their capabilities and develop a creative bent of mind.
