Early Times Report

RAJOURI, Sept 23: Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today visited forward posts in Khamba area of the strategic Nowshera sector of district Rajouri.
He interacted with the personnel of the 2nd Madras Regiment and hailed the Army for maintaining the territorial integrity of the nation and promoting peace and harmony through different Sadbhavna Activities. The DC Rajouri evinced keen interest to stay with the unit for the next time as the act shall symbolise the cordial Quami Bhavana sentiments.
“Every Indian has extreme regard and respect for the commitment and valour that every Jawan and Officer of the Great Indian Army shares”, the DC said.
The DC Rajouri assured that the government is very serious about the safety, protection and care of all border natives and has introduced many programmes and policies for their social and economic well being.
Interacting with the border natives, the DC Rajouri announced to organise two day border mela for boosting the morale of brave Indian citizens and who are the first line victims of all atrocities of war, cross border firing and insurgency. Further, he also inspected the site of a dispute which is being investigated by the CBI regarding rentals of village Khamba and assured of early redress of the issue. Pertinent to mention, village Khamba is partially within Indian territory and partially under the possession of Pakistan and in no past, nobody from civil administration ever visited and interacted with the natives of such a volatile area. Deputy Commissioner also paid a visit to the revered shrine PeershahLak located on the zero line and prayed for the peace and prosperity of the district.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by DDC member Darhal, Iqbal Malik; ADC Nowshera, Sukhdev Singh Samyal; Tehsildar HQ, Babu Ram; Tehsildar Nowshera, Raju Samyal and other officers
