Irony ! J&K Cong leaders worried about UP farmers, show no concern towards Jammu traders

Jammu, Oct 11: Senior Congress leaders led by J&K incharge of the party, Rajni Patil, staged a silent protest outside Raj Bhavan here on Monday against Lakhmipur incident.
It’s in place to mention here that the violence broke out at Lakhmipur in Uttar Pradesh after a car mowed four farmers. The farmers have alleged that Ashish Misra, son of Minister of State for Home in UP, Ajay Misra, was sitting inside the car that mowed four farmers. However, Ashish has refuted these allegations. Eight people, including four farmers, two BJP workers, a driver and a journalist, were killed in the violence that had erupted in the Lakhimpur district during a farmers’ protest last week.
The J&K Congress leaders, who staged a silent protest outside Raj Bhavan today, demanded resignation of the UP Minister. They claimed that a fair probe cannot be held if he continues to remain in the office.
While referring to the protest of Congress party here, an analyst said, “These leaders are staging protests against an incident that happened in UP as they are aware of the fact that elections are going to be held there and they need to make their presence felt.”
He said, “Someone needs to ask these Congress leaders if they can stage a protest against the Lakhimpur incident, why they didn’t stage a demonstration against the anti-businessmen policies of the J&K administration.”
The analyst said, “Bureaucrats have been harassing Jammu business people for the past one year but the Congress has never tried to become their voice and raise their concerns. Jammu traders voluntarily shut their businesses for one day to protest against the indifferent attitude of the officials, but it didn’t make any difference.”
He said, “The local Congress leaders should realize they have to contest the elections from J&K and not Uttar Pradesh.
They came out to protest on the instructions of Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi in presence of Congress J&K incharge, Rajni Patil. They did so to send a message to the party high command that they exist. It’s unfortunate that they couldn’t organize a protest voluntarily to express solidarity with Jammu businessmen.”
