‘Free for all’ situation in Kashmir as bloodbath, mayhem of poor non-locals going unabated

Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 17: Back-to-back killings of poor labourers of Bihar have exposed all tall claims the J&K government has been making on TV interviews, press statements, and advertisements.
The situation appears to be out of control for the publicity-hungry dispensation which is not ready to accept even positive criticism.
While the nation was mourning the gruesome killings of two non-locals, who were killed by terrorists on Saturday, terrorists struck again on Sunday in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district killed two poor labourers of Bihar.
Three non-Kashmiri labourers who were fired upon by terrorists in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir are residents of Bihar.
Terrorists fired indiscriminately upon non-local labourers at Wanpoh area of Kulgam. In this terror incident, two non-locals were killed and one injured, reports said.
As per the sources, “Three non-Kashmiri labourers fired upon by terrorists in Wanpoh, Kulgam identified as Raja Reshi Dev, Joginder Reshi Dev, and Chunchun Reshi Dev. All are residents of Bihar. Raja Reshi Dev and Joginder Reshi Dev died before reaching the hospital.

J&K Govt appears only on TV interviews, press statements, photo-ops, advertisements; Situation reverts back to early 1990s
Fear grips thousands of non-local workers earning a livelihood in Kashmir by doing menial jobs after recent killings
mmu and Kashmir police and other security forces cordoned off the area. Further details were awaited.
Earlier a Golgappa hawker from Bihar and a carpenter from Uttar Pradesh were shot dead by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. The hawker, Arbind Kumar Sah, and another Sagir Ahmad from UP were shot dead by terrorists in Pulwama, the police said.
“We will revenge killing of civilians”, minutes after every killing of innocent helpless citizens, J&K authorities issue this statement. It appears that authorities only change the date and timing of the statement because except for issuing such a statement nothing concrete has been done.
Highly placed sources in the corridors of power said that a group of ‘ineffective Babus’ is keeping Lieutenant Governor Manoj Singh in dark about the ground situation in J&K in general and Kashmir Valley in particular.
These Babus, who were proved a complete failure in their previous postings, have hijacked the administration and excepting organizing interviews on TV, issuing press statements, holding photo ops, and issuing advertisements worth lakhs have done nothing on the ground.
