10/18/2021 12:21:09 AM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Oct 17: A protest dharna was held by the Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC)-Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) J&K at Jagti Township Nagrota Jammu under the chairmanship of its president Shadi Lal Pandita. Addressing the protesters, Pandita said that the government should protect the minorities in Kashmir valley as the situation there has worsened after removal of Article 370 and 35 A.
Pandita said government should not force package employees to perform duties in Kashmir Valley as the situation in valley is very dangerous at present.
The government is asking the migrant package employees to perform their official duties in Kashmir, which would be a big mistake by the government. Making such order of the government will endanger the lives of the migrant package employees for which the government will be responsible.
The government should consider the request of the package employees and give them leave till the government improves the situation in the valley. In addition, 10 town townships should be made for the package employees in 10 districts of Kashmir valley as soon as possible so that they can be kept in the safe zones. Migrant employees are ready to perform their duties in Kashmir but the government will first have to improve the deteriorating situation in the Valley.
Pandita said that three satellite townships should be set up in North, South and Central Kashmir where 40,000 people can live together in each township.
He said that Kashmir is ours and we should be settled in the Valley. Pandita said that we have been protesting for 380 days but the government is still not meeting our demands. Pandita reiterated the demand to increase the monthly cash relief from existing Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 as relief holders are living a very difficult life in the exile.
Others who participated in the protest sit-in are included M L Razdan, Ravi ji Koul, Kashi Nath Bhat, Inder ji Labroo, Rakesh Ambardar, Shuban ji Raina, Rakesh Tickoo, Raj Kumar Bhat, Gh Mohmad Khan, Gurdeep Singh, Satish Pandita and Vijay Bakshi.
