| GDC Jindrah organizes ‘Bye-Bye Plastic Rally’ | | |  EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 25: The NSS unit of Government Degree College (GDC), Jindrah conducted a rally on ‘Bye-Bye Plastic’ theme under Clean India Campaign. The activities were done as a part of ‘Har Din Paavan’ series to mark the ‘Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
The NSS volunteers gathered in the college premises and taken out rally along the market area of Jindrah and also covered Ward Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Jindrah village. During the rally participants raise the slogans against the plastic usage and emphasized on use of handmade bags to carry belongings and other items. The NSS volunteers also persuade locals and shopkeepers to say Bye-Bye to plastic use and refusing single-use items. The volunteers also made them aware of consequences of using plastic and its effects on environment and health.
Dr Sunil Sharma, Programme officer, NSS Unit of GDC, Jindrah supervised the events and Dr. Seema, Librarian and member of NSS team compiled and reported the events.
Prof Rajshree Dhar, Principal, GDC Jindrah applauded the untiring efforts of the NSS team and Volunteers. She congratulated the team for their remarkable contributions during the events.
The locals also appreciated the NSS team and volunteers for their efforts and also took oath to stay away from plastic in the interest of more healthier and greener environment. |
