J&K NCC Naval Unit to organizes CATC

Jammu, Oct 25: J&K Naval Unit, NCC is conducting a Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) at Nagrota Camping Ground under the aegis of NCC Directorate JK&L. 310 NCC Boys and Girls Cadets from various colleges across Jammu & Kashmir are participating in this camp. While ensuring strict adherence to COVID protocols, these cadets are subjected to Physical Training, Parade, Firing, Sports & Games, Community development activities, various awareness Campaigns and Cultural Programmes. Waterborne training activities including Boat Pulling and Sailing are also being conducted for cadets at Mansar Lake. This camp is also intended to select the Parade Contingent for the upcoming Republic Day Parade.
In line with awareness campaigns, an invaluable interactive session on highly essential Road Safety and Traffic related issues was conducted by District Traffic Inspector, Jammu Insp. Khushwant Singh. Cadets were thoroughly benefitted with the knowledgeable session.
In continuation of the awareness campaigns another interactive session on one of the highly significant subject of Medical Insurance Cover under Ayushman Bharat Scheme – PM JAY, was covered by Dr Deepak Kumar, Deputy Medical Superintendent, DRDO Hospital, Jammu. Under the guidance of Med Superintendent Jammu, Dr Narinder, this lecture was designed to ensure that these young cadets are introduced to all the essential details and information pertaining to this Scheme. Dr Deepak Kumar cleared several of the queries of cadets and made them thoroughly aware about all the benefits and procedures \related to this scheme.
The session was intended to spread an awareness message regarding this scheme to the society through these young cadets.
Dr Deepak Kumar, being actively involved in management of COVID-19 Pandemic, also utilized the opportunity to brief cadets about various Do’s Don’ts to prevent spread of COVID. He emphasized upon the aspects of personal hygiene as a habit to ensure a healthy living.
