JDU delegation calls on Relief Commissioner

JAMMU, Nov 5: A delegation of Janta Dal United (JDU) today called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner Migrants in his office Chambers at Jammu on the directions of Party President J&K GM Shaheen to highlight the genuine problems being faced by Kashmiri migrants and for their early amelioration.
The delegation led by State General Secretary Sanjay Dhar, Vivek Bali Secretary J&K, Piaray Lal Pandita Chairman Migrants J&K, Ravender Singh President Sikh Minority Cell Jammu and Vikas Koul General Secretary Displaced Migrants Jammu discussed with the Relief Commissioner Jammu the problems of Kashmiri migrants.
During their detailed meeting with the Relief Commissioner, all these leaders raised the problems of migrants viz, repair and renovation of internally dilapidated migrant quarters of Jammu, regular supply of water in TRT Nagrota, regular supply of pure drinking water in all camps of Jammu and Kashmir, Construction of boundary wall in Natnusa camp Baramulla, proper drainage system in all J&K migrant camps, adequate accommodation for those PM package employees working in the Valley. They also demanded enhancement of monthly cash assistance of Kashmiri migrants from Rs 13000 to Rs 25000 per month, regular supply of ration in transit camps of Kashmir etc.
All these leaders were given a patient hearing by the Relief Commissioner and assured them that the problems listed during the meeting are already under his consideration and will be taken up seriously with the concerned departments for their early redressal. Some on spot directions were also passed in this direction during the meet. They also submitted a detailed memorandum of problems to the Relief Commissioner and expressed satisfaction on his positive attitude.
